An established marketing communications agency that has been helping clients within traditional media (print and broadcast) now needs to include web design and production in their integrated solution. Up to this point, they have been outsourcing most web design, which has been somewhat successful, but now needs to be an efficient, profitable part of their total business solution.
Opportunity:
By bringing these web design services in-house, an integrated branding strategy can be executed in-house for the agency's clients. The in-house interactive services will become a new profit center.
Solutions:
Provided a road map for resource alignment, software/hardware recommendations, and workflow change
Implemented digital media training events for the target audience of agency print designers to learn how to create media that could be used for print, web and video
Replaced the traditional segmented advertising workflow model with a team-based workflow that integrated web design resources
Developed targeted training sessions for agency sales and administration. The curriculum focused on the technical web solutions created for specific clients
Outcome:
During July 2001 - July 2002 period web design work increased 300% with all web development moving in-house.
