Prepress Workflow Analysis and Training for Multi-Site Print Shop

34 stores in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia

Challenge:

One of the countries largest quick print companies identified bottleneck issues with their prepress resources. Problems included software and hardware knowledge gaps and workflow issues. Customer support tools were either of poor quality or lacking altogether, causing issues with incompatible file types, missing fonts and artwork.

Opportunity:

By eliminating these obstacles, the prepress staff will become more efficient and provide better customer service.

Solution:

  • Conducted on-site interviews at 35 locations with every prepress resource
  • Created a “best practice” workflow for store implementation
  • Presented a training roadmap based on the resource needs and skills
  • Delivered five custom classes to over 75 students in a four-month period

Outcome:

Increased prepress and scheduling efficiencies by consolidating client information and assets into a standardized workflow process.
